Welcome
to the web site of the CRATERRE project .
CRATERRE is a project
funded by CNES, the french space agency. The goal
of the project is to develop new radiation belt models allowing a better description
of the space environment (electron and proton) for mission specifications.
Three axes of research will be conducted all along the study by ONERA-DESP:
-
In-situ measurements
-
Physical modeling (Salammbo)
-
Specification model (From POLE
to global)
On this web site you will find:

ONERA-DESP-LIB
We provide here acces to the ONERA-DESP library.
The library allows to compute magnetic coordinates for any location in the Earth's
environment for various magnetic field models and coordinate transformations. For more
details have a look to the User's guide section.
-
IPSAT
Ionising Particle in Space Analysis Tool (IPSAT) is a virtual observatory.
A radiation belt data base has been developped and is being growing. Then a web interface to plot the data in many different ways and to
compare them between different spacecraft on different orbits is provided.
-
Radiation monitors
A description of the CNES-ONERA ICARE radiation monitor is provided
-
Private
A restricted area to the project team.
